#LiT – Ladies in Tech
More visibility for women in IT – we promote this through good cooperation.
With the participation of numerous stakeholders and the support of IT companies such as the German Adacor Hosting, the European Anexia and the German ITZBund, we continued to advance this goal in 2024. We implemented exciting projects, showcased talent and connected companies and like-minded people.
A particular highlight was our series of interviews – both in German “Ladies in Tech” and English dotmagazine – with numerous exciting personalities from the Internet industry. They inspired and encouraged us and presented best practices!
In our conversation with Dr. Claus van der Velden, Commercial Managing Director at NetCologne, we discussed various measures and framework conditions that influence women’s entry, development and advancement opportunities for women. Van der Velden also explained how his company promotes diversity and gender equality in a male-dominated telecommunications world.
Kerstin Stromberg-Mallmann is not only the head of the German Moderators’ Academy, but also the Managing Director of Talking Bridges and has been a trainer and moderator on stage for many years. In our German interview, she shared not only practical experiences, but also valuable tips on how to feel more confident in conversations and on stage.

In our eco German podcast “Das Ohr am Netz” (“An Ear to the Internet”), we gave female speakers a platform. Among others, Professor Barbara Schwarze, Chair of the Competence Centre for Technology, Diversity and Equal Opportunities, gave us an insight into the Digital Skills Gap and digital learning. You can find more exciting German episodes here.
And some news on our own behalf: with both joy and a touch of sadness, the #LiT team is saying goodbye! The goal of our initiative was to make women – especially in the IT industry – more visible, to support them and to influence the industry through various projects. We succeeded in this and, over the last few years, we have been able to jointly help in advancing the industry together.
At the end of 2024, we concluded the initiative in order to devote ourselves – with great anticipation – to other important topics. We would like to thank the numerous committed members, partners and friends of the association for the successful cooperation!
