eco New Year\u2019s Receptions<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

eco \u2013 Association of the Internet Industry kicked off 2024 with its traditional New Year\u2019s receptions in Cologne and Berlin, together with members, partners and representatives from politics, administration and the digital economy. After a pandemic-related break, the popular in-person events took place again for the first time since 2020 \u2013 and the interest and number of participants were correspondingly high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Year’s reception in Cologne<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On 25 January 2024, eco invited guests to its offices at VULKAN.K\u00f6ln. Around 200 guests attended the event. eco\u2019s Managing Directors Alexander Rabe and Andreas Weiss welcomed the attendees at the opening. This was followed by an invitation to an art opening showcasing works by the artists Armin Scheid and Maxim Probst. With tapas, refreshing drinks and atmospheric live music, the evening was all about personal reunions and networking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Year\u2019s Reception in Berlin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Five days later, on 30 January 2024, the New Year\u2019s Reception took place at eco\u2019s Capital Office in Berlin. Around 150 guests attended, including numerous representatives from politics, administration and business. After a welcome by eco Chair Oliver S\u00fcme, Claudia Plattner, President of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), gave a keynote speech on the topic of cloud and IT security. She focused on her personal priorities and the role of the BSI in preventing and defending against cyberattacks. During the get-together that followed, guests took the opportunity to engage in intensive discussions on current developments in the digital world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
